I am currently in Del Mar over at our rented studio cliff house enjoying the most beautiful springtime day, the one side window next to the two oversized windows open allowing the ocean swept fresh air to keep me fully “ionized” having just earlier got back from walking my co-dependant Italian Greyhound.

The hyperlink over the word “win” takes you to a photo I took during last night’s sunset after a day of very stormy weather that began with my dog Pypeetoe and I taking a run in the rather cold but so awesomely refreshing rain breathing in the air that no one had yet to inhale and ending with Marie’s 14 year old JoNathan handing me at the bottom of the stairs a glass of the sweetest tasting fresh orange juice that he had so very thoughtfully squeezed.

I have thought a lot about you even though we only got to spend a short time together and both you and your companion were suffering a little from sunburn, not to mention how when we ended our conversation you were smart enough to want to find shade, to mention little of your “lost” driver - I wasn’t sure if you were aware that we hung around in our car until quite certain you were in “good hands”.

When we met I had yet to come up with a title to the book but upon landing in Xian which was our first stop after Beijing my French-Canadian wife, Marie, thought of, THE HISTORY OF MONEY CREATION AND ITS FUTURE! and then when we went on to Chongqing she also came up with the title, “A Message for the President”.

I would like to get back to where you and I left off when I mentioned to you how DeBeers now had this extraordinary retail “footprint” here in the U.S., at least two stores, one on 5th Ave in NYC and the other on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.

I am not sure if I mentioned to you a book titled, THE DIAMOND INVENTION authored back in 1978 by Hollywood blockbuster author Edward Jay Epstein that is only available on the Internet.

If you have the time now I would like for you to look at just Chapter 9, DIAMONDS FOR HITLER, subtitle THE SECRET WAR REPORT OF THE OSS – you can access it by clicking on the previous hyperlink.

Suffice to say my interest in “Diamond Currency” may have a lot to do with the fact that I spent the first 21 years of my life, shy of 1 week, growing up in South Africa but very frankly that should be of no consequence in terms of what I believe to be our “mutual interests”.

Once reading this one Chapter I would like to hear your thoughts bearing in mind just one thing and that is how you think other intelligence agencies besides for the OSS/CIA reacted to the “news” of DeBeers thwarting the efforts of the Allies to stockpile industrial diamonds that have since the mid 1950s been produced at “zero cost” in machines.

I plan to be online for the next 90 minutes before going to get a haircut.

BTW, I am watching rather closely the trading of “other” currencies around the world including gold.

Oh my goodness -- I didn't recognize the name!  Yes, that was I.  Thanks so much for following up with me.

Yes, I started here in August, so I am just now hitting my 6-month mark at the Fund.  It has been a great experience so far, though very different, as you can imagine, from the world of the corporate law firm.

Where are you these days?  And what is the status of your book?  I've thought of it a few times over the past 8 months!

Kind regards,

Mike

I first wanted to make sure you are they guy my wife Marie and I met at the bottom of the zip line at Simatai this past summer where we discussed a number of things pertaining to “fungible” currency?

As best I recall you were about to join the IMF after spending time practicing law in Paris?

Dear Sir,

I was informed by the IMF's External Relations department that you tried to contact me.  This is my personal email address.  How may I assist you?

Regards,

Mike
